Mourn Me Not For I Live On
One of the first pieces that I was requested to do was a memorial poem for a beloved father-in-law. She gave me some information about her father-in-law, including the fact that he was an avid college basketball fan. We managed to work that into the poem near the end, and it reflected his personality to have that in there. The poem was actually etched into a plaque of wood. The visitors at his memorial service chuckled a bit, and it made them a bit more comfortable.
I love writing memorials for people, as they give me a chance to learn about some of the amazing lives that some people have lived, and I love to provide some level of comfort to people at a difficult time. And I like to think that the family will have an heirloom.
I can write one for your loved one. See the Commissioned Poems page on the website for details.
