Today we run for Boston,
for a city that is strong;
for a city that proclaims to all:
“We are here. We are home.
We are back where we belong!
We indeed are Boston Strong.”
April 21, 2014
On April 21, 2014, the Boston Marathon finished what it had started lasted year. The 2013 race, as we all know, ended in unspeakable tragedy, with several deaths and with many horrible injuries.
But thanks to the fortitude of a city that would not break, the Marathon ran again in 2014.
Boston Strong is really strong.
Congratulations to the race organizers, to the local and state authorities who had their own planning to do, to the police and security people, to the medical personnel (EMTs, nurses and physicians), and to the race volunteers who work so hard setting up, taking down, delivering water, Gatorade, Powerade, etc. And congratulations also to the spectators who cheered the runners on. Good job!
And congratulations to the runners. They are always great, and in this race they were running for those who can’t run anymore. And they had to be running with some fear that some other people might be planning some other horrible catastrophe as happened last year. But all went well.
Congratulations, Boston! You did it. Strong.
Both are on sale for 99 cents for a limited time!
