The Way of the Artist: A Photo Poem. Two Versions 6×4 inches

Originally written and dedicated to the memory of my cousin, Richard: artistic, creative, talented, missed, and the nicest! Rest in peace, Dick.

The Way of the Artist

For the artist—active or latent—in all of us.  The world needs creative and artistic people, more than it knows!  And all of us have some part of us that is creative or wants to create.  But the world seems to prefer uniformity and conformity, because that makes things very simple.  But the artist's way is a bit more complicated, and acceptance can be hard to find sometimes.

“I listen for the silence
there inside the quiet,
and patiently await
a whisper in a moment,
a subtle sound in deepest night
somewhere else inside the house,
demanding my attention.”

This poem is available in two versions, one against a background of delicate blue flowers, and the other against a background of a river scene.  The piece shown above with a painting of a country house in the background is not for sale.  It is a memorial piece for my cousin, who created the painting of the country house. I show it in honor of him and his talent.

Version 1 is with the text printed on a background of delicate blue flowers.

Version 2 is with the text printed on a background of a river.

Both are 6 inches by 4 inches, with a choice of frames:  white, black, and dark brown.*

Only $16.99*

*Shipping, handling, and sales tax, if applicable, are extra.

*Frames are subject to availability.  I reserve the right to substitute a frame of similar color.

The Way of the Artist

Two versions:

Version 1 is on delicate blue flowers.

Version 2 is on a river background.

4×6 inches.

Choice of white, dark brown or black frame.

(The version with the country house in the background is not for sale.  There is a painting in the background of a country house which was painted by my cousin, and I used this as the inspiration for the poem.  I am just using it to show how inspiration occurs, at least for me!)
