Valentine’s Day: a Good Time to Register as an Organ Donor
This Valentine’s Day, as you think about love, and those you love, think about how important it would be to you that an organ be available for your spouse or child or parent in the event that one was needed to keep them alive. Think about how grateful you’d be if you, or your loved one, were able to live because someone cared enough to donate an organ that saved your life, or your loved one’s life. It’s important. Don’t wait. There are not enough hearts and livers and kidneys and corneas to go around. Choose to Donate Life. Your life will go on living, even when you’re gone.
Today, I am showing “So Hope Will Live,” a poem of gratitude written from the perspective of an organ recipient to an organ donor and his or her family. You can see the full 20×16 inch poem here: “So Hope Will Live.” It is available also in a shorter version as a photo poem. Click here.
Disclaimer: I am registered as an organ donor, but I have not received an organ nor have I been a living donor. My picture appears in the 16×20 piece only because I am a cheap model.
